Publishing Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Rules and responsibilities of the Editors of Świat Tekstów. Rocznik Słupski (The World of Texts. Słupsk Annual)

  • Submissions to the journal (original and previously unpublished) should be sent to the Secretary in form of an e mail attachment by the end of February each year (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
  • Reviewers review the submitted articles by end of May each year, and the Authors respond to the review and send the manuscripts adjusted in accordance with the suggestions, comments and editorial notes by end of June (reviews are issued within 3 months after submission; the reviewed article is published within 11 months after submission).
  • Each issue is issued by the end of the given year.
  • Each Author receives one copy of the issue containing his/her article.
  • The Pomeranian University’s publishing house may issue a certificate of acceptance for publication after accepting the manuscript to print.
  • We listen to our Readers and Authors, and we do our best to respond to their needs.
  • We strive to maintain high quality of our publications.
  • We are committed to transparency, reliability and responsibility.
  • We make continuous efforts to improve the quality of our journal.
  • We always publish the required explanations, corrections and apologies.
  • We caution our Authors and Reviewers against letting business interests affect their research results.
  • We provide information about external sources of funding (ghostwriting firewall).

Rules of contact with Authors

  • Submissions to each issue must be made by the end of February in a given year (in electronic form, with the Author’s name and affiliation).

  • We strive to maintain of the high quality of our articles and endorse clearly specified goals and standards of publishing.
  • The Editorial Board conducts a preliminary selection of the articles within its powers.
  • Submitted texts are subject to further review in a double-blind review process – for more information please refer to a separate tab (“Rules of reviewing manuscripts submitted to Świat Tekstów. Rocznik Słupski”)
  • Manuscripts are reviewed by Reviewers with different affiliations than the Authors’.
  • Authors receive a written review with the explanation of the rating.
  • One negative review means that the article is rejected; after modifications the article may again be submitted for review and published in a subsequent issue (with different Reviewers performing the review).
  • Authors respond to the Reviewers’ comments using the form Author’s response to the Reviewer’s opinion.
  • The Author signs the Author’s Statement form to confirm that he/she has read and accepted the Publishing Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
  • Lack of conformity with the editorial requirements may lead to rejection of the manuscript despite positive reviews; however, once the necessary modifications have been made.
  • Any form of scientific misconduct, especially infringement or violation of the ethical rules that should be followed in scientific research, shall be exposed and reported to relevant entities (Author’s affiliated institutions, scientific societies, scientific editors’ associations etc.).

Rules of contact with Reviewers:

  • Names of Reviewers of articles published in a given issue are printed in the issue (names are not connected to the reviewed articles).

  • The journal uses the double-blind review process, which means that Reviewers and reviewed Authors do not know their identities or affiliations (which are replaced with codes).
  • Reviewers write general and detailed comments in a coded review form sent to them along with the manuscript; the review should contain an explicit statement concerning admission or rejection of the manuscript.
  • In the case of any disputes or under extraordinary circumstances Reviewers may be informed of Authors’ responses (ensuring their anonymity).
  • By signing the review form the Reviewer confirms that he/she has read this Publishing Ethics and Malpractice Statement.

In view of the ghostwriting and ghost authorship firewall used by the Editors, the Author declares that*:

The Author undertakes to transfer to the Publisher any and all copyrights to the work and vests the Publisher with the right to use the work in the following fields of exploitation:

  3. Right to release the work on the Internet.

Exploitation of the work through its release on the Internet shall be unlimited in time; the work may be published on any website or web page and copied by Internet users.

If the work contains copyrighted illustrations or other materials, the Author shall obtain permission for their use by the Publisher and a written confirmation of such permission; furthermore, the Author shall bear any and all costs thereof and shall cite the source of such illustrations or materials in his/her work.

The Author acknowledges and accepts that he/she is not entitled to any fee or remuneration in any form for the publishing of the aforementioned article by the Pomeranian University’s publishing house Wydawnictwo Naukowe Akademii Pomorskiej w Słupsku. Furthermore, the Author waives any and all claims against the Pomeranian University in Słupsk in this respect.

The text has been modified in accordance with the Reviewer’s comments.
