PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

  1. EDITORIAL BOARD’S RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to ensure the highest quality of articles published in our journal, the Editorial Board (https://swiattekstow.apsl.edu.pl/index.php/en/editorial-board) and the Academic Advisory Board (https://swiattekstow.apsl.edu.pl/index.php/en/academic-advisory-board) of Świat Tekstów. Rocznik Słupski (The World of Texts. Słupsk Annual) ensure reliability of the content published in the journal and oversee observance of copyright and adherence to the ethical standards set by the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE), which have to be followed at every stage of development of a research paper. These standards provide the ultimate and irrefutable rules of our paper review and editing processes. The Editorial Board and the Academic Advisory Board of Świat Tekstów. Rocznik Słupski represent and warrant that the observance of these rules shall not be affected by any business connections. The Editorial Board decide on publishing of the submitted papers solely on the basis of their scientific value and without regard to the Authors’ ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, nationality or beliefs.

The members of the Editorial Board of Świat Tekstów. Rocznik Słupski shall:

  1. Decide on publication of a paper solely on the basis of its scientific value and regardless of the Author’s ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, nationality or beliefs;
  2. Make unbiased and independent decision on accepting a paper for publication and notify the Author of such decision as well as provide him/her with adequate explanation;
  3. Publish information on the rules of reviewing papers on the journal’s website;
  4. Ensure that the reviewing process is fully anonymous and the review is not disclosed to third parties;
  5. Withdraw from editing of an article if there is a conflict of interests between the Editor and the Author;
  6. Inform the Author of any suggested changes in the submitted work, with the exception of adjustments and corrections;
  1. Disclose information on any external sources of funding of the papers published in the journal;  
  2. Notify appropriate entities (such as institutions employing the Authors, scientific societies, scientific editors’ associations etc.) on any cases of scientific misconduct or violation of the code of research ethics;
  3. Choose a Reviewer with a different affiliation than the Author;
  4. Publish corrections, explanations, information on withdrawals and apologies as and when necessary.

 

 

  1. AUTHORS’ DUTIES

The Authors of the research papers submitted to Świat Tekstów. Rocznik Słupski shall:

  1. Issue a statement that all data included in the submitted paper are original and true;
  2. Issue a statement that the text has not been submitted for reviewing in other scientific journals;
  3. Cooperate fully with the journal’s Editorial Board during the process of reviewing and editing the research paper, including removing and/or adjusting any errors indicated to the Author;
  4. Disclose the sources of funding of the research, the results of which are presented in the submitted papers;
  5. Provide the full list of authors of the submitted research papers;
  6. Obtain the required consents for publishing other copyright elements of the paper (such as figures, images etc.);
  7. Report any potential conflict of interests that may occur during the process of reviewing and editing of the submitted papers.
  8. By offering a research paper for publication in Świat Tekstów. Rocznik Słupski, the Author of the paper accepts the statements referred to in items 1 and 2 above.

III. REVIEWERS’ DUTIES

The Reviewers of the research papers submitted to Świat Tekstów. Rocznik Słupski shall:

  1. Conduct fair and impartial reviews of the submitted papers in accordance with ethical standards, refraining from any form of unscientific criticism;
  2. Make every effort to improve, if possible, the scientific value of the reviewed articles, including by pointing out publications that have not been cited;
  3. Withdraw from writing the review if the field of the reviewed article extends beyond the Reviewer’s scientific competence and/or there is a conflict of interests between the Author and the Reviewer;
  4. Notify the Editorial Board in case of any violation of ethical standards in the reviewed articles, in particular such as plagiarisms or self-plagiarisms;
  5. Follow the confidentiality principles with regard to any and all information related to the review process.
